How long will implants last?
Nothing will last forever in dentistry, however, recent evidence shows that implants have some of the best longevity when compared to other treatment options such as a bridge or denture. On average, implants can last for over 15 years, however, this is dependent on good maintenance. We advise that you brush twice a day, floss daily and see a hygiene therapist every 6 months.
A single implant replaces a missing or lost tooth. In some circumstances we can use a single implant to replace two teeth, but this is very much case dependent.
Single implants are a perfect fixed solution for a:
- Missing tooth
- Severely broken and unrestorable tooth
- Heavily decayed tooth
- Failed root canal
- Tooth damaged from injury
