Invisalign treatment is not just for adults, it can be used for young people as well. The main benefit of Invisalign treatment compared to the traditional train track braces are that life for your teenager can continue as normal. By being able to remove the aligner for up to two hours a day teenagers can enjoy all their favourite activities from sports, to playing musical instruments to eating and drinking.
What conditions can be treated with Invisalign Teen?
- crowded or crooked teeth
- Gappy teeth
- Deep Bite
- Overjet, Underjet
- Open Bite
How does it work?
Invisalign teeth works exactly the same as all other Invisalign systems, it uses the latest Invisalign technology to apply gentle forces to your teeth to move them into a straighter position. However, Invisalign Teen also has some extra features.
Blue Compliance Indicators
These are blue dots found on the clear aligners at the first molar area. The blue pigment found within the dot is designed to fade when in contact with the patient’s saliva. This will allow us to track how long the retainer is being worn and thus the compliance of the treatment.
We can still proceed with treatment even if some of the adult teeth haven’t erupted yet. This is because eruption compensation fractures can be designed into the clear aligners to accommodate the natural eruption of the missing teeth.
Because we know teenagers can easily misplace items, extra aligners will be included.
What are the benefits to parents (over traditional braces)
- 40% less orthodontic appointments (perfect for busy parents and busy teenagers)
- Shorter appointment times, only 10 minutes every 6-8weeks
- Fewer emergency appointments, no broken brackets to fix
- Better oral hygiene as the aligners can be removed for cleaning
- Digital planning allowing for more precise treatment
How long does it take?
This is entirely case dependent.
